We believe that every project is a collaborative journey that lands to distinctive bespoke furniture and accessories of the highest quality. Underwood Movement will work with you on this design journey, through our three key moments– image creation, wood selection, cutting and assembling.
Whether you are commissioning a piece of furniture for a house or yacht, an architectural interior or private jet, Underwood Movement aims to create a welcoming an interactive and tailored design experience which culminates in a highly personal and unique product, bespoked to your own needs.
The Process
The creative journey propels us into the realm of possibilities, where problems become opportunities and ideas flourish into impactful designs.
Image Creation
We start with sketches, defining lines, colors and balance. The final “cardboard” is then processed through a CAD application in order to have a very precise cutting line.
Wood Selection
The choice of different woods is essential, as the quality of the marquetry depends on the correct use of the different species. Each veneer is cut according to the outer outline of the pattern.
Cutting & Assembling
We use latest generation of laser cutting machines. Marquetry design are done by hand, one piece at a time, with patience and precision. At the end of the process we gently sand the surface and apply a clear, protective finish.
